The day before the action, the protesters held posters with inscriptions: "No — to the incinerator on [the island of] Brevenik! Yes — to waste sorting and processing!", "No — to incineration! Yes — to clean air!", "Incineration is not a panacea. This means cancer and no development of the regions", "Incinerators are dioxins in the lungs of citizens" (incinerators are waste burning plants).

Anastasiya Kochneva commented on her participation in pickets for 7x7:

— The Russian Constitution states that everyone has the right to breathe clean air. But at the same time, facilities, thermal electric power stations, and boiler-houses worsen air quality every day. It all affects people's health negatively. Nevertheless, the government of Arkhangelsk, for example, also wants to build incinerators — waste burning plants — within the town, and they will become another source of harmful emissions. I am absolutely against it.

In September, Russian eco-activists held actions to draw the attention of the authorities and society to the problems of climate change. On this day, pickets were held by supporters of the FridaysForFuture Movement, created by Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg, around the world. Similar actions were held in October in Syktyvkar, in November — in Murmansk and Arkhangelsk.
