The court found Ivan Kudryashov guilty of preparing an act of terrorism. As per the court's decision, Kudryashov will serve 2.5 years in jail and the remaining term in a strict regime penal colony.

In the fall, he was involved in drawing anti-war graffiti in Tver. The prosecution accused him of possessing Molotov cocktails at his residence. The Federal Security Service (FSB) apprehended Ivan Kudryashov on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack. Kudryashov denied the charges and claimed that he was tortured by FSB officers.

On June 8, Kudryashov began a hunger strike because, in the pre-trial detention, he was denied vegan food, as well as vitamins and books sent to him.

This is not the longest sentence given for arson in Russia recently. An Ivanovo resident was sentenced to eight years in prison for preparing a terrorist attack. Authorities described the arsonist's aim as "destabilization of the governing bodies." The individual threw a Molotov cocktail at the military registration and enlistment office in April 2022.

In May, a citizen of Kazakhstan was sentenced to 13 years in prison for setting fire to a military registration and enlistment office in Omsk.
