On Saturday, August 5, a festivity called “Top of the Summer” took place in the village of Petrushovo in the Ryazan region. The celebration was attended, along with the local people and summer residents, by former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl. One of the guests at her wedding in 2018 was Vladimir Putin who also danced at that event.

Kneissl, in conversation with the local publication "Side View" through an interpreter, said that she had rented a house in Petrushovo and had connected with the local community. She had visited a steam room and offered to deliver a lecture at the village club. According to the publication, the former Austrian minister particularly liked Oleg Gazmanov's "Forward, Russia" song performed by a local teenager, Kostya. Kneissl shook his hand and complemented his performance.

"It's a super nice atmosphere here, not just now, but I think every day. When I look, chickens on the street, ducks, goats - this is my world, this is my world too because I lived in a small village in Austria," Kneissl said talking to the people at the event and inviting local retirees to visit her.

In a dialogue with journalists from Ryazan, Karin Kneissl said that she had not seen Putin since 2019. Currently, she is working on a book about the situation in Europe and trying to find a new path for herself. She is going to stay in Petrushovo for another month.

Karin Kneissl left Austria in September 2020. She claimed that she had been barred from professional activities in her country and that she was receiving death threats. She did not disclose the reasons behind these threats. A year later, she assumed a position on the board of directors of Rosneft, which she relinquished following the outbreak of the war. She took part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Russia-Africa Forum.
