Mari State University explains the expulsion of student Viktor Novogorski to his academic failure. However, Mari UshemВ says that he is a strait-A student. The student, along with community activists, stood up for Person and Law, a Mari human rights organization, which is currently under threat of closing by a request from the Ministry of Justice.
