Ahead of the National Unity Day, Tambov Governor Maxim Egorov asked public servants to help with fundraising for the troops. He mentioned that he had contributed his one-day earnings to the army. Then Tambov mayor, Maxim Kosenkov, reported that all city administration employees had donated their one-day salaries for the war needs.

Responding to the governor's proposal, the head of the Uvarovsky District, Natalia Gubanova, the mayor of Kirsanov, Sergei Pavlov, and the director of the Gavrilov Sports School, Anatoly Filimonov transferred their daily wages for war purposes.

Employees of municipal institutions and local organizations have also joined the fundraising campaign. As human rights activist Vladimir Zhilkin informs, after the governor's appeal, the administration of the Tambov Regional Hospital requested contributions from their staff.

Heads of municipalities in various regions of Russia had previously encouraged their subordinates to contribute to the war. In September 2022, Tobolsk Mayor Maxim Afanasyev announced his intention to donate one day's earnings to the military every month.
